# Automatic Unlinking of Former Residents

> Learn how Latchel automatically unlinks residents who are no longer in your PMS, and how to download the list of unlinked residents.

> Automatic unlinking currently works with **Yardi**, **Rentvine**, **Propertyware**, and **AppFolio** integrations. More property management software (PMS) integrations are coming soon. No more former residents getting texts and calls about work orders at a home they've moved out of. Latchel now checks your resident list against your PMS every week and unlinks anyone your PMS no longer lists, so only your current residents are contacted about a unit's work orders.

We built it to be careful. A resident is only unlinked after they've been missing from your PMS for three weekly checks in a row, and anyone who shows up again is relinked automatically.

> When someone moves out and drops off your PMS, Latchel unlinks them from the property for you. You can download a list of who was unlinked at any time.

## **What This Feature Does**

> **Weekly check**
>
> Every Monday, Latchel compares your residents in Latchel with the residents in your PMS.

> **Three strikes, not one**
>
> A resident is unlinked only after they're missing from your PMS for three weekly checks in a row.

> **Automatic relinking**
>
> If an unlinked resident shows up in your PMS again, Latchel relinks them automatically.

> **Your manual residents stay put**
>
> Residents you added by hand in Latchel are never unlinked by this check.

## **How to Download the List of Unlinked Residents**

#### 1. Open the Exports page.

Go to the **Exports** page in your Latchel dashboard.

#### 2. Find Deactivated Residents.

Scroll to **Deactivated Residents**. The description shows the date of the most recent weekly check.

#### 3. Click Export.

Click **Export** next to **Deactivated Residents** to download the list of residents who were unlinked from their properties in the last weekly check.

## **Things to Remember**

>
> Keep your PMS up to date. Latchel uses your PMS as the source of truth, so a resident who is removed from your PMS by mistake will be unlinked after three weekly checks. Add them back in your PMS and Latchel relinks them automatically.

>
> If a weekly check would unlink more than 20% of your residents, Latchel holds those changes back so our team can review them first. Nothing is unlinked until then.
